Restrictions: The Haidinger Foundation (Foundation) does not directly solicit grants. Rather, the Foundations pool of potential grant recipients is identified by an unrelated nonprofit organization, San Diego Nice Guys Inc., EIN: 95-3405753, (Nice Guys). Nice Guys is a public charity which has operated in the San Diego, California area since 1979. The mission of Nice Guys is to provide small one-time grants to deserving individuals and families throughout the San Diego community, with a goal of providing assistance in order to allow grant recipients to get back on their feet and maintain their self-sufficiency. Potential recipients of Nice Guys grants may be self-referred, and many local social workers, churches, hospitals, and other charities also refer potential grant recipients to Nice Guys.The grants from Nice Guys are modest, ranging from $2,000-$7,000, and each recipient may receive only one grant. The Foundations charitable purpose is to amplify the financial assistance provided by Nice Guys
