From the Form 990-PF returns that private foundations file with the IRS each year, using the IRS's public e-file data. We read the grants list, officers, contact details, and application instructions exactly as filed.

Foundations file months after their year ends, and the IRS publishes in batches, so the newest grants are usually 1–2 years old. We show the tax year on every grant.

Private foundations must list every grant on their 990-PF. Public charities, community foundations' donor-advised funds, corporations, and government funders report differently or not at all, so they are not included.
