How to apply

This foundation reports that it accepts applications.

Soliciting charities will need to be preapproved by the Foundation based on their compatibilty with the missions of the Schoen Foundation (see below). Once preapproved, they must submit their grant request electronically, using the Foundations application program which includes historical information, disclosure of mission statements, compatibility with the Foundations four mission focuses,financial statements, demonstration of needs for the requested grant, overall fund raising efforts, impact of the expenditure of the requested grant on the organization and those that it serves, and other operating and fundraising activities.

Deadlines: Submission of requests to apply must be made by April 1st for certain educational endownment request

Restrictions: Limited to organizations that are educational institutions, Christian religious and humanitarian organizations and those providing assistance to veterans or the homeless. Grants for operating expenses will generally be limited to 10% or less of the operating costs of the requesting charity. Grants for capital gains may not be subject to this 10% limitation.
