Applications for grants to the organization must be in writing through 501(c)(3) organizations and public charities. Grants are only distributed to public charities, not to individuals.

Restrictions: The Richard & Patricia Jay Charitable Foundation is intended to be a charitable private foundation under IRC Section 509. The awards are made to IRS recognized public charities to further the charitable, scientific, literary, religious and educational purposes of the Organization. Since the Richard & Patricia Jay Charitable Foundation will not engage in direct charitable activities, it will make grants and distributions to other qualified charities within the United States operating programs which further the charitable purpose of the Organization.
